If we need to address healthcare, poverty, population control, unemployment and human rights, there’s no better way to start than providing education to children in need. Education not only empowers children to have a secure future but also helps them grow up as responsible national and global citizens. The Right to Education (RTE) Act which came into force in 2010 made education free and compulsory for all children in the age group of 6-14 years. But even a decade later, the learning curve has not been steady for many children in the country. The socio-economic conditions of parents and lack of proper learning in schools are hindrances which prevent many children from having education.
Skill development has been regarded as one of the most important factors in job generation. India enjoys a special demographic advantage because more than 60% of the population is under 25 years old. However, employability needs to be raised in order to benefit from such a sizable workforce. According to recent data, just 10% of recent graduates are employable, and the other 90% do not possess the necessary abilities to qualify for employment by a firm. ICTM Foundation has a well-structured program for multifaceted skill development to help students bridge this gap and pursue their career aspirations. From instilling confidence to speak up to preparing them for cracking an interview, Prerana goes all out in making them employable. Education-to-Employment is the mantra that ICTM Foundation chants all the time. We reach out to youth using various tools of door to door contact, focus group interactions, night meetings with communityengaging volunteers.
Our goal is to honor, uplift, and bring joy to those who are homeless, poor, oppressed, defenseless, abandoned, mentally and physically ill, damaged, infected, elderly, and in a dying state. These people are typically found in extremely unsanitary, seriously ill, and excruciatingly painful conditions on train platforms, bus stops, places of worship, and other public areas. No one steps forward to touch them or offer assistance. As a result, their condition worsens and they eventually face a painful and protracted death owing to a lack of food, medication, and care. Our goal is to alleviate their suffering, preserve their lives, and provide them with a comfortable home, complete with free food, shelter, and medical care. Following their recovery, the organization rehabilitates people in a variety of methods to enable them to live with dignity and respect and to integrate into society at large.
